Blue Violet Farm is a 1,080-acre working farm nestled in Delaware County, New York — a landscape of rolling pasture, hardwood forest, and clean mountain streams in the northern Catskills.
We are building something long-term: a regenerative agricultural enterprise rooted in ecological design, artisan production, and deep stewardship of the land. The farm sits at 11609 County Road 18, Stamford NY — two hours from New York City, a world away from everything else.
A licensed New York State Farm winery and meadery producing small-batch botanical wines and meads from farm-grown flowers — dandelion, elderflower, rose, lilac, and more.
A 68-acre intentionally designed seven-layer temperate food forest — one of the largest of its kind in the world. Canopy to ground cover, all edible, medicinal, or productive. Supported by USDA NRCS.
Two farmhouses on the property — a main house and guesthouse — currently under thoughtful renovation. Opening for guests soon.
An on-site farm store and greenhouse carrying farm-produced botanicals, wines, meads, and seasonal goods. Coming soon.
In Fall 2026, Blue Violet Farm will plant 68+ contiguous acres as a fully designed seven-layer temperate food forest — in a single planting campaign. The project is supported by USDA NRCS and will be documented from day one with GPS survey, species inventory, and full botanical records.
The seven layers — canopy trees, sub-canopy, shrubs, herbaceous perennials, ground cover, root layer, and vines — will include apple, pear, chestnut, walnut, elderberry, currant, hazelnut, comfrey, strawberry, grape, and over 50 documented species in total.
This project represents one of the most ambitious single-planting food forest efforts in the temperate world.
